Check if your number is on a supported carrier

check-if-your-number-is-on-a-supported-carrier page anchor

Step 1: Identify the brand name of your carrier (aka wireless provider) for your mobile number. This brand name should be on your number's billing statement.

Step 2: If the brand name matches one on the Supported Carriers List above, then your number should work with Live Test Number, and you can stop here.

Step 3: If the brand name does not match, your number may still work with Live Test Number, but you'll need to do some more work to find out. This is because some consumer-facing brands are actually MVNOs that use an underlying MNO's network(link takes you to an external page). Only the names of MNOs are listed in the Supported Carriers List.

Step 4: To identify the underlying MNO of your number, use Twilio Lookup by navigating to the Lookup page on Twilio Console(link takes you to an external page) and use the Carrier Information option. The "Carrier Name" value is the underlying MNO. Note that the "Carrier Type" must also be mobile. If the "Carrier Name" (MNO) does not match any on the Supported Carriers List, then your number will definitely not work with Live Test Number. However, if it does match, then it may work, as some MNOs support MVNOs while others don't. When in doubt, we suggest testing your number with Live Test Number. You'll eventually get an error if it isn't supported.
