# Unsubscribe

*Email Deliverability*. A recipient's voluntary decision to remove themself from a sender's [bulk email service][].

When a recipient unsubscribes from your service, they indicate their loss of interest in your content. To avoid [spam reports][], you must [honor these unsubscribe requests][track-unsubs].

Various regulations, such as [CAN-SPAM][], [CASL][], and [GDPR][], requires unsubscribe options in senders' email messages.

If you don't use an [email service provider (ESP)][esp], you hold the responsibility to maintain your own subscription functionality and track unsubscribe requests.
