# Sender authentication

*Internet Security*. The process that shows ISPs that you gave your mailbox provide permission to send emails on your behalf. To set up sender authentication, add DNS records to your hosting service.

This authentication involves both [domain authentication][domain-authentication] and [link branding][link-branding].

> \[!WARNING]
>
> You might encounter the term *whitelabel*. The term *sender authentication*" replaces that term and eliminates any potential racial or cultural connotations associated with the earlier term.
