### Possible causes

* The participant SID you are requesting does not exist in this conversation.

### Possible solutions

* Check that the requested participant SID is not misspelled.
* Check that the requested participant SID was added to this conversation. Use REST API to [fetch a list](/docs/conversations/api/conversation-participant-resource#read-multiple-conversationparticipant-resources) of existing conversation participants.
