## Description

The requested participant is not a member of this conversation.

### Possible causes

* The requested participant was removed from this conversation, or was never added to it.
* The requested participant SID is misspelled.
* The requested participant is a member of a different conversation.

### Possible solutions

* Ensure that the participant is added to the conversation. Use API to [create a new participant](/docs/conversations/api/conversation-participant-resource#add-a-conversation-participant-sms).
